4 Best Options Panel Themes
Less Hunting Through Code For Settings…
As site owner…when I first started out with WordPress many settings required hunting through code. Fortunately these days there are some WP themes with great Options Panels. Why hunt through code when there’s an easy way to make updates… So what are the Best Options Panel Themes? I am going to let you know what I think are the 4 Great WP Themes With Best Options Panel. These are my top picks below for Best Options Panel Themes. The first one I have used for many years now. It is still my #1 choice! Here’s the 4 reviews for 4 Best Options Panel Themes. Just click on the buttons for more info for these 4 WP Themes options:
It’s now May 2019 and I’ve been using NIMVA for many of my sites and client sites since January 2015. I’ve tried a few other WP Themes for some sites. But I have never found a better theme than NIMVA. In some cases I changed to NIMVA for the sites I used another theme. So NIMVA is #1 in my book!
NIMVA Review – #1 In My Book!
Very Powerful Theme With A Great Control Panel – Makes WordPress CSS Customizations and More VERY EASY!!
Here’s our NIMVA Review – A Surplus of WordPress Options Panel Theme Options. One of the most frustrating things about WordPress is all the CSS customizations and other types of updates to content and other items where one has to usually venture into the code with the WordPress Editor. Sometimes it can take a long time to find the setting to change. And sometimes you can’t find it anywhere and thus frustration. Sure there’s plugins that help with CSS. But there’s always settings that are harder to change with these. And NIMVA puts an end to most of that frustration!
It is a very versatile theme. Just about all settings that one could want to update and customize a theme are right in the options panel. With so many options at your finger tips it could very well be the only theme you’d ever need.
Installation of NIMVA is painless. There’s even some easy-to-follow videos that are very helpful with the installation process. Once the theme is installed you can import the demo data. This helps make setup even easier.
After the installation one thing you will notice is Theme Options in the Control Panel on the right and if you select this you will see the big difference with NIMVA. There’s A LOT of options instead of the standard few that most themes offer. The first group as you can see are the typical select a logo and tagline as below.
But click on the General Settings and even with that you begin to see the difference this theme offers.
There’s settings for just about everything. That is the difference. There’s no hunting in code for most items that one would typically update. The appearance of the top bar, header, social media, footer, typography, color scheme and more…it’s all there. You have complete control of menu options. You can even add a megamenu!
The Background options let you set up the site as wide or boxed as well as make it easy to select colors and background images or add a parallax effect. You can also add a video background with an overlay image.
There’s also controls for blog, portfolio, WooCommerce and even backup.
Just the control panel options makes it a must-have theme but there’s more. Not only does it come with the well-known LayerSlider WordPress plugin but each page you set up offers options that other themes just don’t include. Looking at a site page…there’s some difference there too. The first thing one may notice is Visual Composer is there as an option to using the Classic Mode. The theme includes a built-in version of the Visual Composer plugin to easily add content of all types including text, images, galleries, widgets, portfolios, and much more. If you are in the Classic Mode Editor you can see the options for Frontend Editor and Backend Editor.
The Backend Editor is the typical Visual Composer look and feel. NIMVA has the Frontend Editor which is more WYSIWYG and opens the site page in another window where you can edit each part by selecting it.
The other difference with editing pages is the options found below the content area for the page. There’s options to easily apply settings to specific pages only like below:
I couldn’t find many problems with NIMVA beyond some minor hiccups like odd bullet behavior that seemed to resolve itself and odd breaking paragraph issues that likewise vanished over time. This theme is super and offers so much. I highly recommend it. For more info please click here or on the button below to find out more.
2. ThemeREX Review – ThemeREX WordPress Themes Have Great Options Panel Too
After using NIMVA for my sites for so many years I wondered about other themes and options panels. I just couldn’t find other themes that offered so much. Then I found ThemeREX Themes. Sure I still love NIMVA. It will always be my favorite. But the ThemeREX Themes offer a lot too. So I am adding this ThemeREX Review.
The ThemeREX WordPress Themes have options panels with a lot of settings as well. And these themes are high quality.
The 2 I like the best are SmartWeb and Parallels. So I chose Parallels for my GoGreenAndHealthy.com site. And I picked the SmartWeb theme for my DesignMediaUSA.com site.
Below are some examples of settings in the options panels.
So plenty of settings. There’s global settings for the site and each page allows settings too. I found that quite helpful for my GoGreenAndHealthy.com site. The options panel settings are pretty straightforward. I found the options panel to be very easy to use. But some adjustments were not found in options panel like for:
- changing the space between menu items and font size
- finding a way to get the submenu items to be closer to the main menu items
- moving the logo up a bit
Support told me what code to add to Custom CSS and the issues were quickly resolved. Support was fast to respond and very helpful. That is important these days with all the complexities of WordPress.
Except for a few things like can’t change colors to text headings ThemeREX Themes have great options panels. Hopefully they will add those settings in the future. So I highly recommend ThemeREX Themes. Click below to find out more about these great themes.
3. ThemeFuse Themes
Our ThemeFuse Review
Regarding our ThemeFuse Review, ThemeFuse offers many beautiful unique themes to choose from. For this ThemeFuse Review I chose Paws & Claws. I was about to set up my GoGreenAndHealthyPets.com site. And I was looking for the right theme. Paws & Claws seems to be the perfect fit.
Installation is easy. I chose the manual upload via FTP. The first thing I looked for was the Options Panel. And this ThemeFuse options panel does have quite few settings. However this options panel does not have many settings that other themes offer. It’s not like NIMVA or ThemeREX themes.
The Options Panel for Paws & Claws is quite basic. And there’s images to replace with your own. These are in an images folder. But that’s pretty easy to deal with. So I replaced those images with mine. And I changed settings in the Options Panel. Below are 4 screens to show the types of settings you can easily change:
Some Changes Outside of the Options Panel
The Options Panel has some settings to make things easier. But it does have fewer than NIMVA and ThemeREX themes. I was able to use the ThemeFuse Options Panel to make some changes. But there were a lot of changes made outside of the Options Panel. These include color and size of WordPress headings tags (must edit CSS code) and control the size of the logo.
No Option to Add a Footer Menu
There’s also no option to add a footer menu. I was told the only way to have one would be by customizing the theme code. I wanted an easier way. So I tried to add one to pages with WP Bakery Page Builder plugin I installed. But even that didn’t work. I finally added the footer menu by installing an Ad Inserter plugin. That works fine and easy to do.
A Few Other Minor Things But Awesome Themes!
There were a few other minor things like missing bullets where i had to actually copy and paste a bullet in place. And only 3 social media icons at the bottom of the pages. But the ThemeFuse themes are very nice and quite unique. I was pleased with using the Paws & Claws theme for my GoGreenAndHealthyPets.com site. And there’s many Themefuse theme categories to choose from. Themefuse worth checking out to see if these themes can work for you. Just click below to find out more:
4. VisualModo WordPress Themes For Many Types Of Sites
These Themes Fall into Many Types of Categories…A Real Plus!
Regarding this VisualModo Review I bought the VisualModo Themes as a deal from DealFuel. If you click above you can see the deal and all the themes. The first thing I noticed about VisualModo Themes was the many categories of web sites. For example, some categories include business, agency, blog, store, restaurant, health and more. Starting out with WP Themes for specific categories generally makes setup easier.
The Theme I Chose
I selected the Spark Theme for my FunWithSquirrels.com site. It’s a responsive multi-purpose theme. And I really like that theme and many others from various categories.
These are nice WP Themes. Each theme includes popular plugins like WPBakery Page Builder, Slider Revolution, WooCommerce and more. Using the VisualModo Theme Options Panel helps make setting up a new site easy. I found most of the settings rather quickly. But some were hard to find or not available. For example,I did not see a way to change the colors for headings. However one can easily change the font and size for headings.
Another great feature of the VisualModo themes is the Theme Options Panel. It really has a lot of options regarding site settings. Below are some screens (click for larger view):
Support Is Very Helpful
Support was helpful with some issues including a reduced width issue, an odd menu issue and sidebar and header titles. They at least gave a hint as to what the problems at hand were.
Some solutions were not the ones I wanted and so limitations regarding the theme. For example, the reduced width issue solution meant being limited to a lighter background image in my case. But that worked out OK. Adding sidebar and header titles to each page was the solution. There’s no global setting or click of a button. But it’s pretty easy to do. It’s done using WPBakery Page Builder as seen in screen above.
The odd menu issue solution meant another WP Theme limitation. My first level menu items were too long for this theme. My solution in the end was to use the Max Mega Menu Plugin. It gave me the menu I want. It’s free and works great! I highly recommend this plugin.
The last problem was a common one. A lot of tech companies want one to pay for support. And when one initially uses a new theme they will have questions. I had submitted 3 tickets with questions and support was very helpful. Submitting a forth ticket was a bit of a problem. They now want me to purchase a $59 plan to get support. I chose to try to figure out the rest of the problems myself. In some cases I decided to go a different route to resolve a problem. Fortunately there’s the VisualModo Help Center which is really helpful. So there was a fix for remaining issues. I just had to think outside the box in some cases.
VisualModo Review – The Rating…
So in terms of this VisualModo Review I highly recommend these WP Themes. The VisualModo Theme Options Panel offers a lot of settings. There’s many categories of themes. And the issues and limitations can be easily worked around. To see the great DealFuel deal I got just click below.
